The Anchor Church is a gathering of Christians that meets in Southeast Portland and specifically in the Foster-Powell, and surrounding neighborhoods. We believe that the essence of the Christian life is love: Christ followers loving God and others in response the the love they receive from God.
At the Anchor, we affirm spiritual seeking. Even if you aren’t a Christ follower, you are welcome to join us during our times of worship. Many people involved would love to share conversations with you and share the story of their spiritual journey as well.
Because the Anchor is a Christian gathering, we try to find our place as being connected to the rich tradition of Christians throughout the centuries. We feel it is important that we see our place being connected to things that Christ followers have been doing throughout the history of the church. What we are doing are things that have resonated with people for thousands of years. We believe that when we gather for worship, in a mysterious way the entire historic church gathers with us as we worship God and celebrate the story of how God has interacted with us throughout time.
